It’s so easy for a black woman to choose to have a hysterectomy because that’s all we are offered along with birth control. At the age of 35 I complained about having painful periods and I was told I was having painful ovulation and should take birth control. Then at the age 40 no one wants to listen and I continue to get told to get a hysterectomy. I have had MRIs and plenty of ultrasounds and found out that I have fibroids. It’s a problem when you have to suffer for many years.
