A phenominal book & also the movie, "And The Band Played On," really highlights how the virus was passed on by "Patient 0" & how it was considered a "gay disease" until a wealthy woman contracted it from a blood transfusion & was brave enough to speak out about it. The Reagan administration never spoke of AIDS until people were dying from blood transfusions & they could no longer make it a "gay" disease. PLEASE read the book or rent the movie. It's very informative & will also touch your heart.
